We have planned and carried out this example tour for clients in exactly the same way. It is a combination of different regions of Argentina and Chile and is based on the wishes of our clients. Partly private guided tours are planned, then again time at your own disposal with suggestions or also sections with your own rental car.

Would you like to combine your trip to Argentina and Chile with a cruise in the fjords around Tierra del Fuego and Cape Horn? Then this route can certainly be a suggestion for you. Individual trips in Chile and Argentina with Cape Horn are a great combination of Patagonia with a spectacular cruise in the fjords of Tierra del Fuego. On this trip you will experience the metropolises Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile, the fascinating Iguazú waterfalls, highlights of Patagonia as well as a wonderful cruise in the very south of the continent. Arrival in Buenos Aires
Arrival in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. The remaining day is at leisure.
Buenos Aires - the Paris of South America
After breakfast, you start an extensive city tour to get to know the "City of Tango". You will visit the colourful harbour district La Boca, home to many cabaret artists, the Palermo district, the famous Recoleta cemetery with the grave of Evita, the Congress Palace and the Casa Rosada. (Private guided tour in German)
Optionally, you can attend a tango show (incl. dinner) this evening.

Fiesta Gaucha on an Estancia
A day trip takes you to the gauchos on an estancia. On this traditional cattle farm you can visit the local historical museum. For lunch there is a traditional parillada accompanied by folklore performances. In the afternoon there will be horse riding competitions of the gauchos. In between, you will have the opportunity for a short horseback ride or a carriage ride in the surrounding area. In the evening return journey to Buenos Aires. (Group tour in English)

Flight to Iguacú and visit of the waterfalls on the Brazilian side
Transfer to the airport and departure to Iguacú. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Afterwards, we travel to Brazil to the National Park and the gigantic waterfalls of Foz do Iguaçú. The falls are definitely one of the most attractive waterfalls in the world. The amount of water is enormous and the steam produced by the falls covers the whole area. As a result, the surrounding forest is humid and lush. From the falls, a catwalk over a thousand metres long takes you to the Devil's Dragon. (Private tour in German)

Visit the waterfalls on the Argentinian side
Today you will visit the Iguazú Falls National Park in Argentina. On the Argentinian side, you can see the waterfalls and the jungle up close. The view at the precipices is mesmerising - you will be richer for an impressive experience. Thundering waterfalls, dazzling rainbows and drenching mist, while birds circle over the deep green jungle in the distance. Afterwards, return to the hotel. (Private tour in German)

Ushuaia - the southernmost city in Argentina
Transfer to the airport and flight to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in Argentina. Ushuaia is located on the south side of the Great Tierra del Fuego Island on the Beagle Channel. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. The remaining evening is at leisure.

Ushuaia - Cruise
Transfer to the port and embark on the cruise ship. The crew with the captain at the helm will welcome you on board and serve you and your travel companions a welcome cocktail. Immediately afterwards, it's "Cast off!" for the journey to the end of the world. The legendary Beagle Channel takes you through Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego: the beginning of the great adventure.

Cape Horn - Wulaia Bay
You will sail through the Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to go ashore at Cabo de Hornos National Park, weather permitting. Cape Horn is a 425-metre-high, almost vertical cliff. At this mythical place, the world has come to an end. Cape Horn was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in June 2005. In the afternoon, you go ashore in Wulaia Bay, a historical site: This was the site of one of the largest settlements of the Yamana indigenous people, who navigated the coasts in canoes. Charles Darwin went ashore here on his voyage around the world on the MS Beagle on 23 January 1833. The place offers a natural spectacle with its exceptionally beautiful flora and landscape.

Agostini-Fjord - Cordillera de Darwin - Aguila
You will navigate the Brecknock, Ocasión, Cockburn and Magdalena channels to cross the spectacularly beautiful Agostini Fjord (Seno Agostini) in the middle of the Darwin Cordillera of Tierra del Fuego. In this unique place you can marvel at the glaciers that originate in this mountain range, some of which slide down to the sea. In the evening you continue the route to the Águila Glacier, where you go ashore with the Zodiacs. On an enjoyable hike along the beach, you will circle a lagoon surrounded by mountains and reach the front of the glacier. You will have the opportunity to get to know the primeval forest of cold and humid Patagonia and understand the glacial movements that have shaped the landscape of this region.

Insel Magdalena - Punta Arenas - Punta Areans
Early in the morning you go ashore on Magdalena Island. On a walk to the lighthouse that guides ships through the Strait of Magellan, you will meet a huge colony of over 120,000 Magellanic penguins. After visiting the island, you will drive to Punta Arenas, where you will disembark around noon. Reception at the port and transfer to the hotel.

From Punta Arenas - Torres del Paine National Park
Pick up a rental car in the morning at the city office and drive by rental car to Torres del Paine National Park - a highlight of your trip with breathtaking scenery. The Patagonian plain contrasts with steeply towering mountains and glaciers. There are numerous blue-green glacial lakes with floating white-blue ice blocks. On a hike you can experience the flora and fauna of the national park up close. Guanacos, grey foxes and over 120 different species of birds are native here and part of the incomparable scenery.

Torres del Paine National Park
Suggestion: Today you can take an excursion through the Torres del Paine National Park with its indescribable scenery of rugged mountain peaks, glaciers, waterfalls and different coloured lakes. Enjoy the beauty of this national park, which is still home to large herds of guanacos, as well as many pumas and condors. You can go on two different hikes. One hike at Salto Grande and a second hike at Lago Grey. After the visit, return to the hotel.

Torres del Paine - El Calafate
Suggestion: Day trip to El Calafate, located on the southern shore of Lago Argentino, a typical glacial lake of the Patagonian Andes. With an area of about 1,600 sq km, it is the largest lake in Argentina and the third largest in South America.

Perito Moreno Gletscher
Suggestion: Breakfast and excursion to one of the greatest natural spectacles in the world, the Perito Moreno Glacier. It is special because it is one of the few glaciers in the world that still seems to be growing. The ice wall of the glacier - the so-called glacier tongue - rises 60 metres high from Lago Argentino. The constant "calving" of the glacier is a spectacular sight.

Suggestion: Breakfast and drive through the Patagonian expanse by rental car to El Chaltén directly below the Fitz Roy mountain massif.

Drop off the rental car at the airport and take the domestic flight to Santiago de Chile. Reception at the airport and drive to the hotel.

Santiago City Tour
Pick-up at the hotel and start of the private half-day city tour through the Chilean capital (incl. German-speaking tour guide). Visits include the San Francisco Church (1572-1618), the government palace La Moneda, the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Main Post Office and the Municipalidad (City Hall). The tour continues to Santa Lucia Hill, where the Chilean capital was founded in 1541, crossing the Mapocho River and visiting several important districts of Santiago. Furthermore, the San Cristobal hill will be visited. (Duration approx. 6 hours)
Note: As this tour is longer than the usual city tours, you can also change the sightseeing points at short notice or add some more, such as the Mercado Central, the Feria Artesanal and La Chascona (Pablo Neruda's house). Afterwards, return to the hotel. (Private guided tour in German)

Valparaíso and Viña del Mar
On the way you can admire the hills of Curacaví and Casablanca, the coastal Cordillera de la Costa and the ever-changing vegetation. Arrive in Valparaíso, Chile's most important port city (UNESCO Cultural Monument) as well as the seat of the Congreso Nacional (Congress). Observe the impressive multi-coloured houses on the hills, the numerous parks and various historical monuments. Valparaiso is connected to the mountainous area by inclined lifts. Visit La Sebastiana (entrance fee included), the former home of the Nobel Prize winner for literature, Pablo Neruda. Lunch at the Cap Duval restaurant (not included). Along the Pacific coast we go to Chile's most important seaside resort: Viña del Mar, also known as the Garden City, because of its numerous green spaces and parks. Visit to the Castillo Wulf, the Museo Fonck, the Sporting Club (horse racing track) and the Sausalito Stadium. Later, visit to the casino, which has given the city an aristocratic and exclusive flair. The journey continues along the coast, passing the beautiful seaside resort of Reñaca. In the evening return to the hotel in Santiago. (Private guided tour in German)

From Santiago over the Andes to Mendoza
After breakfast, transfer to the bus station. The bus takes you on a spectacular Andean journey over the Bermejo Pass to Mendoza. The route passes the highest mountain in the Andes, the Aconcagua at 6,959 m.a.s.l. Arrival in Mendoza in the afternoon. Reception at the bus station and transfer to the hotel.

Citytour In the footsteps of wine in Mendoza
On a city tour you will get to know the various sights of Mendoza. Afterwards, you will drive through the surrounding vineyards, where Argentina's finest wines thrive, visit wineries and learn about the process of Argentine wine processing. German citizens can enter Argentina visa-free as tourists for up to 90 days.
VISA DETAILS CHILE:
Travel documents must be valid for at least six months.
No visa is required for a short-term stay for tourism or visiting purposes. On entry, a "Tarjeta de Turismo" (tourist card) is issued free of charge at the border, entitling the holder to a maximum stay of 90 days.
