Cape Horn - Wulaia Bay
You will sail through the Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to Cabo de Hornos National Park, where you will go ashore if climatic conditions permit. The mystical Cape Horn, discovered in 1616, is a 425-metre-high, almost vertical cliff. For a long time this was an important sea route for sailing ships from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. Cape Horn is known as the end of the world and was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in June 2005. In the afternoon you reach Wulaia Bay. At this historic site was one of the largest settlements of the Yamaná Indians, who navigated the coasts in canoes. Charles Darwin went ashore here on his voyage around the world aboard the MS Beagle in 1833. The place offers a natural spectacle with its exceptionally beautiful flora and landscape. You walk through the middle of the Magellanic jungle with its lenga, coihue and canelo trees as well as numerous ferns and other species to a lookout point.

Magdalena Island - Punta Arenas
Early in the morning - weather permitting - you will go ashore on Magdalena Island. The island in the middle of the Strait of Magellan was once an obligatory supply stop for sailors and explorers. A huge colony of Magellanic penguins lives here, which you can observe on a walk to the lighthouse that today shows ships the way through the Strait of Magellan. In September and April, anchor off Marta Island instead to spot a colony of South American sea lions from an inflatable boat. Your adventure in the extreme south ends in Punta Arenas, where you disembark in the late morning. Check-in at your hotel.
- Breakfast
Punta Arenas
Explore Punta Arenas on your own. It is the capital of the "Región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena" and has a very special flair due to its special location on the west coast of the Strait of Magellan in the extreme south of Chile. For example, at the famous "Sara Braun" cemetery, you can read as if you were reading a history book about the city. The magnificent mausoleums from the time of the 20th century tell of victory, conquest, loss, love of countless soldiers of fortune, adventurers and seafarers.
