Individual tour through Namibia for nature lovers - INTI Tours
Example trip: Rental car safari in the northeast of Namibia
We have planned and carried out this example trip for customers in the same way. It is based on the wishes of our clients and represents a combination of different regions of Namibia. Partly private guided tours are planned, then again time at your own disposal with suggestions and with the rental car.
Such a sample trip should show you what is possible. And it should give suggestions. You are welcome to tell us your individual wishes and ideas - we will create your personal dream trip in our travel manufactory. Please feel free to call us or contact us.
And here it goes to the journey:
This individual trip through Namibia inspires nature lovers as well as photographers, you will experience animal observations from the Etosha Pan to the Okavango Delta! You will be very close to nature and still do not have to do without conveniences. For example, you will stay in a tent with a fixed bed, safe and comfortable, and with your own shower - not a luxury, but neat, clean and safe. You can fill every minute of the day with experiences, perceive the highlights of Namibia with enough time and take pictures. The biodiversity with different animal species and especially the subspecies with mammals, birds and reptiles is everything. The journey goes from the dry grasslands and the acacia savannah of Etosha National Park to the point where the mighty Zambezi and the Chobe meet in the Caprivi, once across every biotope of Namibia. This trip is suitable from May...

Itinerary
Today already giraffes...
...and of course many other animals on the nearby Okapuka Nature Reserve. In the afternoon, we will go on our first locally guided game drive in an open four-wheel drive vehicle in search of various animal motifs. Under tall umbrella acacias there are giraffes like in a picture book and even white rhinos can be observed here very nicely. First overnight stay at a wonderful lodge for game viewing and relaxation after the flight.

Etosha National Park - Central
Etosha National Park is arguably one of the most wildlife-rich parks in Africa, although it is quite a dry park. The salt clay pan, which covers more than 4,000 square kilometres, generates artesian springs on the south bank, so-called "contact springs". Vast amounts of different game accumulate here, especially in somewhat drier and warmer seasons. The central area is somewhat more open and overgrown with acacias, the central area shows a rather dense mopane forest and in the east there is a dry forest. Each vegetation type shows different animal species. Of course you will see a lot of animals on the way, with luck you will succeed in the best observations of the pachyderms and big cats - here patience and early rising are often rewarded. You can easily drive around the park in your rental car and observe animals as you please. The lodges also offer game drives in open game viewing vehicles. This can give you the benefit of additional wildlife information and viewing as the local guides are very knowledgeable. Two nights' accommodation in the tented chalets near Andersson Gate.

Etosha National Park - East
Many Namibia guests come to Namibia precisely for the wildlife viewing. Therefore, you will spend two nights in the eastern part of Etosha National Park. In the east, the somewhat lush vegetation with numerous springs ensures a higher density of animals and the chance of seeing lions is very high here. However, the dwarf green antelopes, possibly a few paradise cranes and often rhinos are also interesting. As you are staying in the north-eastern area of the park, you will experience the endless grasslands of the Andoni Plain - also called the Little Serengeti. Drive there and understand why... Two nights at a lodge right at the north-east gate of Etosha National Park.
- Breakfast
- Dinner
The Kavango is the Okavango...
...and marks the border between Angola and Namibia in the northeast. Many different ethnic groups such as the Kwangali, Giriku and Nyemba live on its banks and the birdlife is pure splendour. You will explore the banks of the Kavango on a sundowner flatboat cruise, greeting the locals and enjoying the true African scenery. An overnight to share the road at a beautiful lodge west of Rundu.
- Breakfast
- Dinner
The Okavango Panhandle
The Bwabwata National Park is extremely rich in game on both banks. Wonderful observations of various very rare species such as the crescent antelope, sable antelope and also roan antelope are almost guaranteed here. Besides hippos and elephants, you can also regularly observe a pride of lions here. A rich bird life can be observed on the flood banks and the cry of the sea eel underlines the scenery of this paradise. Two overnight stays at the panhandle of the Okavango Delta near the Bwabwata Nature National Park directly on the banks of the Okavango. A boat trip on the Okavango, a game drive in the Mahango or Bwabwata National Park is planned.
For ornithologists: on the Okavango near Shakawe you will find probably the most diverse bird life. If you wish, you can forego the big game viewing and go birding instead - banded owls and numerous delta birds will delight you. In this case you will have two nights at another lodge on the panhandle of the Okavango (located in Botswana).
- Breakfast
- Dinner
Kwando, Nambwa and Horseshoe
The Kwando flows slowly and winds through the Namibian Okavango Delta in a horseshoe shape. Numerous elephants quench their thirst here. Chapman's zebra, a type of plains zebra, and many antelopes like impala can be found in the dense dry forest near Nambwa. A boat trip on the Kwando River and a game drive to Horseshoe Bend are planned. On the boat trip you will encounter hippos, Nile monitor lizards, Nile crocodiles and, with luck, one or two sitatunga. Two nights in a tented chalet situated directly on the riverbank of the Kwando floodplain.
- Breakfast
- Dinner
Chobe National Park, Kasika in Caprivi East & Victoria Falls
The Chobe is a river that connects the Zambezi with the Linyanti and can flow in both directions depending on the water level of the Zambezi. When the water level drops, the green banks and islands become free and are booming with elephants, buffalos and a great many other animal species. The birdlife on the banks of the Chobe provides wonderful photo moments and the sunsets over these waters are simply breathtakingly beautiful. Game drives here are done in open four-wheel drive vehicles and by boat. The flat aluminium boats are very comfortable (you also have a lot of space) and drive very stable and quietly, so great for any game viewing and photography. Two nights at a river camp directly on the Chobe River opposite the Chobe National Park.

- Dinner
Zambezi
The mighty Zambezi divides again and again, forming long linear islands and tributaries. The wildlife here has unfortunately been crowded out by the dense Lozi population, but on a boat trip you get wonderful photo opportunities of various turacos, water birds and bee-eaters. The scarlet pintail breeds on the banks of the Zambezi from August, an ornithological paradise. An overnight stay at a great camp.

Important for this trip
Entry requirements as well as vaccination requirements:
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your trip at the time of entry and still have at least two blank pages. It must be in perfect condition, i.e. neither damaged (e.g. torn, bent, "repaired" by yourself or even accidentally washed) nor illegible or difficult to read due to dirt.
In recent times, there have been individual cases of problems with the immigration authorities at the airport and at the borders by land, because the period of validity of entry visas has been arbitrarily determined.
Germans may enter the country without a visa for short-term stays of up to 90 days per year for exclusively tourist purposes. A toll-free entry stamp (Visitors Entry Permit) is issued upon arrival at all official border crossings.
No compulsory vaccinations are required for direct entry from Germany. In case of entry from a yellow fever area or stay of more than 12 hours in transit of a yellow fever area, all persons from the age of 9 months have to prove a yellow fever vaccination. Namibia itself is not a yellow fever area.
Make sure that you and your children are up to date with the standard vaccinations according to the vaccination calendar of the Robert Koch Institute. As travel vaccinations, vaccinations against hepatitis A are recommended, and also against hepatitis B, typhoid, rabies and meningococcal disease (ACWY) for long-term stays or special exposure.
Special situation Covid-19:
Please cover your travel payments insurance-wise if you are unable to travel due to a positive test result. Some clients test themselves a few days before departure already to have a little more assurance. We find this step helpful.
You can also get tested at the airport so you can enter the country with a fresh test result. Namibia requires an English negative result no older than 72 hours prior to entry.
Please follow this link: https:// www.centogene.com/covid-19/test- centers/frankfurt-airport.html.
Please wear a mask upon entry and please bring masks for the road.
Important notes:
Due to legal requirements, we would like to point out that this trip is generally not suitable for persons with reduced mobility. If you have any health restrictions, please contact us before booking the trip. We will do our best to make it possible for you to participate and will check whether the desired trip is suitable for you.
Registration for the trip can be made through our website, by phone, fax or email.
