Itinerary
Walk in the heart of the city of Helsinki
Arrive at Helsinki Central Station, be greeted by your city guide who will first take you to your accommodation. There you leave your luggage and start your city walk. On the Helsinki City Walk you will see and visit all the main attractions in Helsinki city centre, for example Senate Square and the new Oodi City Library. Your guide will tell you a little about each attraction and about Helsinki's history. And lunch will be waiting for you in between.
There are three themes you can choose for your city tour: culinary, history & Finnish music or history & architecture. Choosing one of the options changes your walking tour a little and leads to attractions according to the chosen theme.
An evening walk in the area around the hotel concludes your day. Overnight in hotel or hostel - depending on your choice.
- Lunch
UNESCO World Heritage Suomenlinna and Eastern Helsinki by bike and kayak
You will have time today to visit a museum or the Suomenlilnna sea fortress. Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your city guide from the previous day will assist you in each case. A good idea is to have a picnic on the island or perhaps try out one of the cafés or restaurants on Suomenlinna.
The afternoon is yours to do with as you please (includes Helsinki Card for 24 hrs).
A sustainable way to get around Helsinki is by bike. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel in the evening and take you to the starting point of your next activity on your e-bikes. You will cycle in about an hour to the eastern part of Helsinki for your kayak tour. An evening kayak tour in the eastern archipelago of Helsinki brings out a different, beautiful side of nature in every season. In summer, the colours are bright and green. There are thousands of islands and small cottages on the shores, offering a varied scenery. The bright light of the summer night accompanies you on your way through the island landscape. The kayak tour is led by local professional guides. You will receive instructions on how to paddle and learn interesting facts about the surroundings. Enjoy this wonderful and environmentally friendly experience in the archipelago off Helsinki at dusk and at night. (Duration about 4 hours, snack included) Afterwards return to your accommodation with the e-bikes. Overnight stay in a hotel or hostel - depending on your choice.

Art, history and culture in Tuusula
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and walk with your guide and e-bikes to the main train station. Take the train to Järvenpää and continue by bike to Alvar Aalto's Villa Kokkonen. Villa Kokkonen is considered one of the masterpieces of the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. It is inhabited and you will be given a guided tour of the house by the artists Elina and Antti. The tour of the villa also includes a small concert with music by Sibelius, among others. After your visit to Villa Kokkonen, your guide will cycle with you along the shore of Lake Tuusula to Ainola to the house of Aino and Jean Sibelius. Now a museum, the property shows how Aino and Jean Sibelius, as well as many other artists, lived during the years 1904-1969. You also walk through the garden grounds, can visit the gravesite and get an insight into the life and work of the famous Finnish composer. Your day in Tuusula continues as you cycle to a nearby restaurant famous for its way of maintaining Finnish culinary traditions. There, a buffet lunch awaits you with a variety of delicious dishes prepared from local and organic ingredients.
You can end your day today with a visit to the sauna and a night in a relaxing hotel built in the old brick stables. Enjoy the summer evening in the hotel gardens.
