This is a varied trip for guests who want to fully immerse themselves in the life and culture of the island and admire its many facets. The tour includes the most important natural regions: from Viñalestal with its imposing Mogotes to the wild Sierra Escambray and the mountains of tropical Baracoa. In addition, the most important cities with their cultural and "revolutionary" highlights: starting from the dazzling capital Havana to Che Guevara's Santa Clara, colonial Trinidad and the city of clay jars Camagüey to Santiago de Cuba, "the rhythm of the Orient". Also included are selected hotels in great locations with a fantastic view. Afterwards you have the possibility for a bathing extension, e.g. in Varadero or at the Jibacoa beach.

Itinerary
Arrival in Havana
Reception and welcome at Havana airport. Then transfer to the hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay at the Hotel Iberostar Parque Central.
Havana's old town & modern center
In typical American vintage cars, a panoramic tour of 19th and early 20th century Havana begins along the Malecón waterfront, past the legendary Hotel Nacional along Avenida de los Presidentes to Revolution Square with the likeness of Che Guevara and the monument to José Martí. Short detour to the legendary Colón Cemetery and on to the Capitol. More fascinating sights during the drive along Havana's boulevard, the Prado. Afterwards lunch in a restaurant in the old town, where you can fully enjoy the typical dishes of the area. In the afternoon, take the opportunity to walk through the alleys of the center and interact with the locals. Through the squares of Old Havana you can admire the main sights: Plaza de Armas, Templete, Palace of the Captains General, Plaza de la Catedral and Plaza Vieja.

Havana - Viñales - Havana (420 km)
Today will be the first day of your life as a tobacco expert. The province of Pinar del Rio will be happy to reveal to you the secrets and details of tobacco production, the common thread in the history of this island and its inhabitants. You will visit the Casa del Veguero (house of a tobacco farmer) and enjoy a panoramic view from the Mirador "Los Jazmines" over the "Mogote Valley" with its imposing limestone cliffs. For lunch, the Paladar Finca Agroecológica will surprise you by combining the flavors of Cuban tradition with a purely ecological and sustainable cooking philosophy. Afterwards, you can visit the prehistoric wall. This is a breathtaking mural that measures 120 meters in height and 180 meters in width and refresh yourself with a delicious cocktail. Late afternoon return to Havana.

Havana - Santa Clara (300 km)
After breakfast, longer drive towards central Cuba to historic Santa Clara, where Che Guevara won his greatest victory and found his final resting place. Visit to the Che Guevara monument and the Revolutionary War train "Tren Blindado". Lunch at a local restaurant and visit to a tobacco factory. Afterwards, walk through the city with the theater "La Caridad" and the Leoncio Vidal Park, an essential center of local life. Overnight stay in a typical middle class hotel, e.g.: Hotel E Central (3*) or similar.

Santa Clara – Sancti Spiritus – Camagüey (305 km)
Early morning departure to the colonial town of Sancti Spiritus, founded in the 16th century. You will visit the unique Yayabo Bridge, which testifies to almost 200 years of history, walk along the beautiful boulevard and stroll through the colorful streets. Continue to Camagüey, the city of tinajones (clay jars). Camagüey was built in 1514 under the name of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe. Due to the many pirate attacks, its inhabitants constructed the city through narrow streets and labyrinthine alleys. Lunch at the famous restaurant "La Campana de Toledo". Afterwards a tour by bicycle cab to the most important places of the city to see the beautiful colonial architecture. Overnight stay in a typical middle class hotel, e.g. Hotel E Santa María (3*) or similar.

Camagüey – Holguin – Gibara (255 km)
This morning departure to the city of Holguin with a visit to the Loma de la Cruz and a walk through the center, then on to the small fishing village of Gibara. This place, still little touched by tourism, is located on the coast and has become famous because of the summer Festival de Cine. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay in a standard hotel typical of the country, e.g. Hotel IB Ordoño in Gibara (3*) or similar.

Gibara – Birán – Baracoa (300 km)
Early in the morning we continue towards Cueto with a detour to Finca Manacas near Birán. The birthplace of Fidel Castro has only been open to the public for a few years and offers interesting insights into his life and the conditions before the revolution. Then continue via Moa, which is known for its nickel mining and further along the bumpy and adventurous coastal road, past exotic bays towards Baracoa, where Columbus once landed. Arrival in Baracoa in the late afternoon. Dinner in a paladar. Overnight stay in a standard hotel typical for the country, e.g. Hotel Castillo (2.5*), or similar.

Baracoa is located in front of the picturesque backdrop of the table mountain El Yunque, embedded in a lush tropical natural landscape with coffee, cacao and banana plantations - pure Caribbean. In the morning excursion to the beautiful surroundings of Baracoa. Drive to Finca Duaba with nature trail and explanations about cacao as well as small boat trip on the Río Toa. Rustic lunch at an "eco-finca" in the midst of beautiful nature. Afterwards, a tour through the colonial core of the town with the church Nuestra Señora de Asunción, where the famous Columbus Cross is located. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay in a standard hotel typical for the country, e.g. Hotel Castillo (2.5*), or similar.

Baracoa - Guantánamo - Santiago de Cuba (240 km)
After breakfast we continue through the tropical mountains via the breathtaking pass road La Farola and the provincial capital Guantanamo. Continue along the coast through an arid, desert-like cactus landscape to Santiago de Cuba, the city of the revolution and cradle of the Cuban Son. City tour through the melting pot of colors and cultures with the most important sights: Parque Céspedes, Casa Velazquez6, Calle Heredia and Plaza Dolores. Dinner at a paladar, where an original insight into Cuban cuisine is guaranteed amidst a rustic ambiance. Overnight stay in a typical middle class hotel, e.g. Hotel Imperial (3,5*) or similar.

Santiago (30 km)
The day begins with a visit to the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery with the tomb of national hero José Martí and former Cuban President Fidel Castro. Afterwards, visit to El Morro Fortress and then drive to Santiago Bay and take the ferry for lunch on Cayo Granma Island in the harbor bay. In the afternoon panoramic tour with the Moncada Barracks stormed by Fidel in 1953, the former villa district "Vista Alegre", the San Juan Hill and Revolution Square and in the evening enjoy the traditional Cuban music e.g. in the legendary Casa de la Trova, where many famous musicians (among others Compay Segundo of Buena Vista Social Club) started their way and where you can get in touch with the Cuban rhythm live. Santiago – Bayamo – Camagüey (350 km)
Early in the morning we will go to the pilgrimage site El Cobre, located outside the city. Visit to the Basilica of the Patron Saint of Cuba and the Virgin of Mercy. The church is located on a mountain and is considered Cuba's holiest pilgrimage site. Afterwards, drive to the carriage town of Bayamo, where the struggle for independence from the Spanish Crown began and the national anthem "La Bayamesa" was composed. After a short tour of the city by horse-drawn carriage, you will continue to Camagüey. This time you will visit an art gallery there. Camagüey – Trinidad (275 km)
Today we drive towards Trinidad, UNESCO World Heritage Site with unique colonial architecture. Through the valley of the sugar cane mills with the Hacienda of the sugar barons Iznaga and the legendary "Slave Tower". Guided tour of the City Museum in the Palacio Cantero. Walking through the main square, you will see the magnificent mansions of the sugar barons and visit the quaint "Canchánchara" (honey liqueur bar). Lunch in a paladar. Trinidad – Cienfuegos – Havanna (335 km)
In the morning we drive along the panoramic coastal road to the port city of Cienfuegos, which is characterized by French colonial architecture. Walk through the main square with the nostalgic Terry Theater, where Caruso once sang. Then detour to the Punta Gorda peninsula - a cocktail in the "Moorish" Palacio del Valle awaits you. Lunch in a special paladar, such as "El Pelícano". Afterwards, continue to Havana and have dinner on your own. Overnight stay e.g. at the Hotel Iberostar Parque Central.

In the morning time for shopping and souvenirs. Check-out at the hotel and transfer (depending on return flight time) to the airport for check-in to flight to Europe.

VISA DETAILS CUBA:
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon entry. Entry to Cuba for tourist purposes with a length of stay of up to 30 days is only possible with a visa in the form of a so-called "tourist card", which is used for entry together with the passport. Tourist cards must be purchased prior to entry and are available from the Cuban Embassy in Germany and from some airlines at the airport.
